Fabric Stashing

The past week has seen the arrival of some bright and beautiful new fabrics here......
.............an exciting package came for me from the talented and creative designer holly holderman of lakehouse drygoods...........such adorable fabrics from the brand new pam kitty garden line...............you can find them all at the fat quarter shop here........
.............they are all adorable and i am so looking forward to making a new quilt very soon......
.............i just had to sew a little bit with them straight away though, and as i had two partly completed bunnies being made for gifts, i made them sweet dresses with the apple prints.....
...............and little checked pantaloons from the sunrise studio fabric which was also in the package..
..............the colours are just the colours i love to work with and the fabric mixes perfectly with the earlier pam kitty morning collections as well as other manufacturers' lines......
...........top left is the sunrise studio scallop and fence fabrics......perfect to use for borders on quilts and pillows..... i decided to use the cheater print to make a pillow.........so quick :)

.............and after the pillow i made a very speedy doll quilt by layering the cheater fabric with a piece of wadding and a piece of the aqua garden toile fabric for the back, then i hand quilted along the edges of the printed squares one evening while watching a movie...........i bound the doll quilt next day with the aqua daisy and vine print.................here it is on the blue doll's bed, waiting for a bunny......
                                                     .................or maybe two?...........
................these new little rabbits are called poppy (in the red dress) and pippin.......
............the tiny buttons i found a while ago to fill up my crafty stash were just right for this bunny dress.........
..............this week i am still painting and illustrating, but i'm enjoying a bit of sewing too.....having new fabrics in your stash is surely one of the most inspiring things for a crafter and quilter isn't it?.............
...............thank you for visiting me here, lovely readers, and for sharing my crafty adventures and inspirations with me.....it is always a pleasure to hear from you and to read your sweet comments......wishing you a wonderful crafty week and if you are in the colder parts of our wonderful blogging world....keep nice and cosy :)......................back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Your fabrics are so beautiful! Love those checked pantaloons! Your bunnies are precious. I like making doll quilts but never know what to do with them afterwards - no little girls in our family and just how many can the thrift shop use? :)

Helen, it's easy to tell from your bright photographs how much inspiration arrived along with that beautiful fabric.

I'm looking forward to seeing what else you will be sewing. The candy colored buttons are rather marvelous, too.

Your little bunnies are sure to be greatly appreciated by some very lucky little folks.

I have a severe case of envy at the sight of these beautiful fabrics. A piece of the cheater one needs to find its way to my house - I hadn't seen it before. Poppy and Pippin look very comfy in their bed - I think it's time for me to make another bunny from your book.

Too cute! I love Pippin and Poppy and their new little dresses. Is that material not the sweetest? Perfect for their little dresses. I was looking online at fabrics yesterday. Then when I get them I'm afraid to cut into them....I think I have issues.
Is the hexie fabric one of theirs too? I love hexies and I love cheater fabrics! LOL! I hand quilt them like you did with your doll quilt, and yours is just precious! Thank you for sharing your beautiful new dolls, fabrics and projects....such inspiration!
Hugs.....Sam

Helen. I had to smile when I saw the fabric you received. I just ordered a fat eighth bundle of Pam Kitty Garden on Saturday. I tried to resist but finally gave in. Now I'm eagerly awaiting its arrival. Your bunny is cute, and I love the pillow and quilt. Thank you for another colorful and cheerful post. I hope you have a wonderful week. :)

Your fabrics are gorgeous! I love Pam Kitty fabrics. They're always cheerful and bright. Your bunnies and their bed are so sweet. I made a doll quilt for my daughter a couple of years ago and I really loved doing it. She puts her baby to bed under it every night and I'm so glad I made it for her.

Your bunnies are adorable, such cute little beings. And the fabric you bought is wonderful. Have a nice week, I do like to spend cold days home, as well. Viola

Oh, what lovely makes, Helen! As usual, you bring us so much inspiration..... Can I ask you a question about the fabric, did you have to pay UK postage tax when the fabric arrived from the USA? I find that sometimes, depending on which estate it comes from they charge quite a bit.... I have had that happening when I purchase things from Japan.... I would really appreciate the information.... Thanks and have a lovely weekend, Pati x
